This black tank gasket (SKU GASLIN716) seals the joint between the dirt canister and the housing of a central vacuum power unit. Measuring 1/8 in. by 7/16 in., it forms an airtight seal so the unit holds full suction and does not leak air at the tank seam.
A cracked or flattened gasket lets air bypass the seal and weakens cleaning power, so replacing it restores a tight fit when servicing the unit.
