The nozzle guard sits on the underside of the floor nozzle, protecting both the nozzle and your floors from damage. It also helps maintain proper nozzle height for consistent suction across different floor types. If yours is cracked or missing, you'll notice scratching on hard floors and reduced pickup on carpet.
